Covenant: Africa’s Best World Class Private Varsity of the Decade in Quality Education

To the glory of God, Covenant University has risen to another epochal height by emerging Africa’s Best World Class Private University of the Decade in Quality Education.

This feat was achieved at the 7th edition of the African Quality Achievement Award 2021, held on Friday, April 16, 2021, at the Sheraton Hotels and Towers in Lagos.

The award, presented on behalf of the organisers by a Keynote Speaker at the event, Professor Joseph Mba, was received by the Vice-Chancellor, Covenant University, Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo.

A highly elated Professor Adebayo, who attributed Covenant’s edge over others to God Almighty, said the University’s uniqueness was exemplified by her innovativeness in institutionalizing entrepreneurial training in every facet of its academia.

According to him, “Covenant students are being imbued with entrepreneurship spirit right from their 100 Level to their final year. That is why companies would troop to the campus to recruit many of them even before they finish their programmes”.

He said that testimonies abound to underline Covenant’s preeminent status among tertiary institutions in Nigeria. These, he stated, included awards such as the ‘Producer of Most Employable Graduates’, ‘Best University in Entrepreneurship Education’, and ‘Best ICT-Driven University in West-Africa’ amongst many others.

The Vice-Chancellor appreciated the organisers for their painstaking efforts at rewarding good brands emerging from Nigeria amidst the many challenges the country was facing. He also urged them not to relent in their efforts at ensuring Nigeria achieved excellence in all ramifications.

The theme of this year’s award was “Driving Quality with Innovation in the 21st Century” and featured keynote presentations, exhibitions, and other award recipients from the agriculture, manufacturing, telecommunications, tourism, and education sectors of the country.

To God be all the glory!
